Directives & Instructions

The DoD Directives and Instructions incorporate the recommendations set forth in the Task Force Report on Care for Victims of Sexual Assault as well as from Public Law 108-375, the Ronald W. Reagan National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2005 (Download Public Law 108-375, 1.0 MB), which directed the Department to have a sexual assault policy in place by January 1, 2005.

• The policies in DTM 11-062 (Document Retention) and DTM 11-063 (Expedited Transfers) are now found in the new DoD SAPR Instruction DoDI 6495.02.

  Comprehensive procedures for responding to the crime of sexual assault within DoD, assuring that sexual assault victims are cared for with dignity and respect.
